| Hi Friends,I am facing to much performance issue of my Database server.During the Production hour if we move 4 to 5 hundred thousand data then it is taking to much time like 5 to 6 minutes to move and meanwhile every application which are connected to Database Server get still.My Server Configuration are as follows.....OS - Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise EditionDatabase - SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise EditionRAM - 16 GB Min -1 GB and Max - 12 GB memory for Sql serverMinimum Memory per query - 16 MBNetwork Packet Size - 4096 bytesPAE enabledwhat should i do to improve my SQL server performancePlease advise me....... |

| Without giving any details it is difficult to say exactly the issue. A simple approach is to capture the sql statements you're executing and analyse the plans. Fix problems you find. As you are reporting general performance degradation without giving specific feedback . I'd recommend :1)Stage 1 - UPDATE STATISTICS (with FULL scan) for all tables2) Stage 2 - DBCC DBREINDEX (depending)3)ProfilerTake step 1 and 2 out of business hrs. BTW - do you have a maintenance plan in place?Going beyond and looking for other bottlenecks - such as Disk IO requires a more in depth analysis.
