Hello,SQL 2008 R2Active Directory 2008I've setup a couple of AD groups (Global Security) and I have added them as SQL Logins and mapped them to specific databases with dbo permission. I added a user to the AD groups but he cannot connect to the database via SSMS or ODBC.Any ideas?Regards,Terry |

What error message is the user getting? What do you see in the event logs? |

Yep - The error message would help ... duh.I did figure it out. I can't say what caused the problem but it is fixed. I deleted the SQL Login (domain\dbo_group) and added it back exactly like it was and now it works. I did the same for both groups. The error wasLogin failed for user 'domain\user'. Reason: Token-based server access validation failed with an infrastructure error. Check for previous errors. [CLIENT: ip address]Thanks all!!Terry |

That sounds like a failed connection -- a network error. Couldn't connect to the domain controller. |
