If I am taken regular transaction log backups , 1 hour then the log file on the disc should not go over 52 gigs so i shouldn't run out of space. Running out of disc space is my main concern |

Do you know? The log backup will not decrease the file size and new transaction log entries will use the reserved space inside the file.So it is possible the file size will stay at 52GB... Too old to Rock'n'Roll too young to die. |

Thanks for your reply , i will monitor the file size as i cannot regain space back on the actual file size ? |

you can shrink the file but I would do that only if I'm sure that the use of 52GB was an exception otherwise the file will grow again and the shrinking was senseless. Too old to Rock'n'Roll too young to die. |
