Dear Experts,
Setting the Auto update Statistics option to 'True' is it profitable.
Or running it manually based on the requirement is good?

Thanks.

The only cases I know of where it's better to turn it off are very large tables that are frequently changed and need to sustain maximum performance. In those instances the performance hit of an auto stats update is enough to be detrimental.

It rarely hurts to have a scheduled manual statistics update. I recommend Ola Hallengren's maintenance script: http://ola.hallengren.com/sql-server-index-and-statistics-maintenance.html . It has numerous settings to control which stats are updated or not, as well as index maintenance.

I'd leave it on. You can trace auto stats events and log them for future reference, if you see performance issues that occur during those times you can look at disabling it.
