| Hi,I am trying to archive our production database, but i have to do this by denormalizing the dataCan anyone please tell me as to what are the initial steps i have to take in order to create a planning document and how check for the relationships and use them to denormalizeNote: I am confused as to one-to-one relationship tables can be joined as one tableand one-to-many can be done the same wayand many-to-many can be done the same way. Thanks, vamsi |

Why do you "have to" denormalize the data? Denormalizing and archiving are completely separate things, and neither of them depend on the other. |

That is the requirement given to me, first i need to basically map out a plan to denormalize the data that is more than ten years old and then i can plan a way to archive itquote: Originally posted by robvolk

Serious that requirment doesnt make any senseIf data is to be archived then why should it be converted to denormalised format?I'm certain you're missing some link in between which really calls for data to be converted to denormalised format------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SQL Server MVPhttp://visakhm.blogspot.com/ |
