Hi,I have sql server 2008 r2 on a cluster. The problem is I can't backup the server correctly because the server contains 17000 bases and the backup plan takes over 20 hours. Replication and mirorring doesn't work too. Anyway what is the best way to backup faster that server ? Is there any tool for that ? Thanks ? |

Are you backing up straight to tape? How much is it in terms of disk space? To narrow your backup window you may need to investigate some snapshot technology - such as FlashCopy Manager . This depends on the stotrage type. Jack Vamvas--------------------http://www.sqlserver-dba.com |
