frank writes "It happens on both sql server 2000 and msde that I installed recently.

After a few minutes to a few hours of running, I notices high volume of upload (1 mb/second) through my network card (I have a download / upload monitor program running) from sqlservr.exe, and the cpu usage of sqlservr.exe is 98%.

So my pc is frozen.

Do anybody know what is going on?

Thanks"

Do you have sp3 installed?
Could be the slammer worm.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.

Definitely sounds like the slammer worm.
