I am having a really hard time with sql server 2008 logins. My database needs to be accessed from users in a network. They can have different usersnames in their machine which don't have domain currently but may have domain in the future. We dont have Active Directory either [NT Is not my job there].Is it possible for users to connect via their group? That is add a user to a group called "Storekeepers" and users belonging to that group be able to access the database and the database only? What would be most efficient way to allow users who install the application to connect to sql server 2008? ALmost all the clients are windows 7 with new windows 8's arriving. All guys! |

Simple answer is YES; make sure the users IP address is white listed at server. |
