Hi

What is best way to keep roles and security in sync on mirrored systems? (both Instance and DB logins)

What do people have set-up to ensure that in the event of a disaster, users can log into the switched DB?

Anytime I create a new login on the principal server, I create it with the same sid on the mirror server. For systems where the application creates SQL logins, I use a script like this to keep them in sync: http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/archive/2008/06/24/How-to-transfer-SQL-logins-between-SQL-Server-2005-instances.aspx

Anything else done at the instance level is done manually, such as jobs, etc. Bill Graziano, owner of SQLTeam, has a codeplex utility that helps with this: http://scriptsqlconfig.codeplex.com/
