I have a server where the only instance is already running SP2, however windows updates is telling me SP1 is a required update.

I read on another old forum that a fix was released to address this.

Has anyone seen this issue or even better, know what the fix is.
Could it be maybe shared components or something that requires SP1 and not the instance itself?

Thanks
Shaun

I haven't seen this, but my guess is you've got some components that need to be updated. I would download SP1 and run the installer to see what it will update. Let us know what you see.

Thanks,

When you run the installer, you need to select an instance right?

Cheers

It'll see what's there, and you can unselect items if need be. It is smart enough to know what has been updated and what hasn't.
