Hi,

I am unable to edit existing Step and unable to add new step to SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM version, getting the msg "creating an instance of the com component with clsid from the iclassfactory failed". I tried to Restart the Service & disconnected and then reconnected SSMS, still experiencing the same issue.

Please do the needful, as I need to make it happen ASAP.

See this connect issue is similar to what you are seeing. If so, install SQL Server 2008 R2 comulative update package 3 or SP1 according to response from Microsoft.

Thanks Visakh! Posting my link would have helped, wouldn't it? :)

I was thinking of this link, but your link is good as well.
