| hello,what is the meaning of four dot version notation of SQL server 9.00.1399.06? and what does it stand foractually, i have got for first two dpt notation.. for instance, 9.00.1399.06 in which 9 stands for major version and 00 stands for minor version.. what about the other two dotsthanks for your time |

| It's Major, Minor, Build, and Revision numbers. It is a standard publish versioning scheme that Microsoft uses in applications generated using Visual Studio. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.version(v=vs.110).aspx (I am making an educated guess that Microsoft builds SQL Server using Visual Studio).What each of those versions refers to, see here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321185http://www.sqlteam.com/article/sql-server-versions |
