I am trying to set up a ODBC connection for a SQL user that can actually access directly through Management Studio. When using the same credentials building the ODBC connection it throws error 18356.SQLState: 28000, Login failed for user...desperately, Martin |

The problem was really stupid and feel embarrassed... I misread and consequently mistyped the password that had been given to me. The font I received the password in doesn't make any difference between capital 'I' and a minuscule L (l) and I interpreted without doubting as capital 'I'. Then I look it up somewhere else where the font doesn't differ between 1 (one) and minuscule L (l) and I thought it was one (again without doubts)... copy paste -off course- worked all the time. I turned mad until I took a small break and started to think... :) |
