Hi All, Can any1 advise or give suggestions for me on the below : I work in a noc team(monitoring team) . I have to do a case study on sql. can any1 tell me any case study or context where i can use sql server and present a case study. i should not giv on any third party tools. also we donot use or work on sql server. we use scom and tws as monitoring tools.The case study should be such that it should have post implementation benefits.i hav esearched in google and got many. but sould not find anything apt for monitring team( we monitor application jobs, servers, network devices)Sh |

As you've mentioned - there are plenty of case studies on the internet. The SQL Server monitoring strategy should based around critical events . By commiting on to many situations monitored – “white noise” can distract from the critical situations. For example, receiving notification on every block – may obfuscate , some critical space full.DBAs are generally busy – assessing every situation can be time consuming – therefore the notifications must be relevant.
