i have a database on sql server 2008 r2 build 10.00.2531(sp1)

now i set up a windows server 2012 on one computer i installed a sql server 2008 r2 with a build of 10.00.4000(sp2)

now all my databases in build 10.00.2531 cannot be access by my visual studio 2010 ultimate even if i attached it already... the only database i can see in my applications on visual studio 2010 ultimate is the build 10.00.4000(sp2)

the question is can i change the build version of my existing databases??
or can i import my 10.00.2531 to 10.00.4000??

please help me ... this problem is becoming a nightmare for me!!!

I would keep my life simple, and simply backup the 2008 and restore it on to the 2012, you should be able to change the build at that point.
