I used 2005's mirroring and it was rock-solid. But the secondary/failover db was not readable.Does anyone know if that is still true with SQL server 2012 - the mirror database at the target is not readable? Thanks, Jack |

With 2005 and 2012, you can read the mirrored database by creating a database snapshot on it. But I think what you are looking for is the readable secondary/read-intent replica option of an AlwaysOn Availability Group, which is like an advanced version of database mirroring.Tara KizerSQL Server MVP since 2007http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/ |
