Attach SQL 2008 R2 database to Sql 2012

Attach SQL 2008 R2 database to Sql 2012

Hi,
I am new to this. Jst wanted to know how to attach a database of SQL 2008 R2 to SQL 2012 (64 bit) version.

The database is of 30 GB, detached from SQL 2008 R2 (64 bit) from a different server. Usual attaching is giving out some error.
Also wanted to check whether the database is corrupt.

Pls help as I am a beginner. Also let me know,further details required.
