SQL Server Express - No Option for Mgmt Studio

SQL Server Express - No Option for Mgmt Studio

Hi

Trying to install SQL Server 2008 R2 on an XP machine and during the features section option there is no tickbox section for mgmt studio - does anyone know why?

I used the same exe to install on another PC (W7 though) and it was fine?

Any ideas would be gratefully welcome.

I am sure you are installing SQL server express edition. The simple SQL server express download does not include SSMS express you need to separately download it from net. Download SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe from link
