Hi All,I have SQL Server on .101 IP and I am executing the application from my desktop and getting below error.But I am able to connect the server via RDPAn exception of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException' occurred in System.Data.dll but was not handled in user codeAdditional information: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) |

Ok, so have you:1. Verified that the instance name is correct 2. Verified that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connectionsas the error message states? |

If the points above are verified , and you are still having issues- check SQL Server Browser Service is started on the server. Otherwise you won't be able to connect to the instance. You may need to use the port number optionJack Vamvas--------------------http://www.sqlserver-dba.com |
