| Bill writes "I have 2 separate networks connected with a VPN. On my local network I have a SQL server set up. In the other network I have 2 computers both Windows 2000 and both running software with a OLE dB provider. The only difference between the PCs is the version of MDAC. The PC with MDAC 2.5 installed works fine. The other PC, which has 2.7, will not connect to the SQL server. It gives me ERROR# :-2147467259 DESCRIPTION :SQL SERVER DOES NOT EXIST OR ACCESS DENIED SOURCE :MICROSOFT OLE DB PROVIDER FOR SQL SERVER SQL STATE :08001 NATIVE ERROR :17. The weird part is when I hook up this same computer to the local network with the SQL Server on it, it works fine. I'm new to SQL Server so any help would be great." |
