| I create and start a server-side tracing process with sp_trace_create, spm_trace_setstatus and etc on our production server. Because the server is heavily queried, the performance is crucial. I want to see how much CPU time and memory my tracing process cost. But I couldn't see this process either in Windows Task Manager, by executing sp_who2 or by select from sysprocesses. Can anybody tell me where to get the CPU usage information of this process?Thanks,George |

| You will not be able to tell from Windows Task Manager or sysprocesses or anything else. If you use SQL Profiler on the server (which is not recommended) then it would should up in Task Manager because an exe would be running. Sysprocesses only shows cumulative CPU time, which is not the same thing as CPU utilization.Tara |

| Looks like no informaiton of the tracing process is available out there (except fn_trace_getinfo). That's disappointing. But thanks Tara. |

Cannot see server-side tracing process...
