| I'm having lots of trouble installing sql 2000 on one of our recently rebuilt machines. The process seems to go fine then hangs when it gets to the "configuring server" part. This is quite pesky. If I do a remote install, I can install everything with no problem. However, then it does not give me an option as to where to put the data files. They have to be lumped with the program files, which is all wrong. Is it possible to do a remote install and specify the data path seperately?-------Moo. :) |

| I do not have the answer to your question, but...It sounds like you need to reimage the server. It would worry me that the basic installation isn't working, so I wouldn't even bother trying to get it to work remotely.Tara |
