Dear All, I am installing a SQL 6.5 on a Windows 2000 machine. There are various problem on installation. Is there any way to workaround it. Problem includes installation hanging up, cannot use enterprise manager after installation. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure you'll continue to have problems, as Win2K is significantly different from the OS versions 6.5 was designed to work with. I'd say you'd be better off using SQL 7.0 or 2000, or finding a machine with NT 4.0 on it.

I also have installed SQL Server 6.5 on a Win2k server without any problems. This was in preparation for testing an upgrade to SQL 7.0 or 2000 (can't remember which, it was a while ago). Did you install service pack 5a for 6.5 as you need to for Win2k? Do you even get through the installation or SQL Server just doesn't work after installation?Tara
