I need help deleting a instance with my SQL 2000 server with SP3. When the SQL server was configured they setup two instaces and two SQL registrations, we'll call them SQL\1 & SQL\2. The SQL\2 is not in use and I would like to remove it completely without effecting SQL\1. I already stopped the MSSQL$TWO & SQLAGENT$TWO service for SQL\2 , but it's still there.

Any help would be appreciated.

You can remove the instance from the Add remove programs in Control panel
