Have you checked to see if you have the correct password for the services?

Check the owner of the jobs that the maintenance plan created. Change them to the appropriate user.

I have no idea what happened over the Christmas. It seemed Santa passed thru as the jobs are now working and I have changed nothing. Any idea what I can check to find out what was causing the error.
Eyechart:
I check the jobs and they belonged to 'sa'.

All help appreciated.

Did you check the passwords for the SQL services? Did someone change the password back?

The SQL Server Error Log will have the error, but it will probaby be the same error that you have already posted.
