| Is there a way that I can compress a database backup while it is dumping? Is there a built in tool in MSSQL 2K? |

| No built in tool. SQL Litespeed is a third party product that you can use to get your database backup file sizes down. We've got it. One of our database backup files used to be about 130GB. Now it's 30GB! Saved us a lot of space on the SAN, which is very expensive for disks.Tara |
