| Hello All,I am installing SQL Server 2000 Client on WinXP Pro. Somehow, the installation dosen't go ahead after selecting "Installing Database Server" The setup process does not hang, but it simplt dosen't go ahead. What could be the possible reason..??? Pls. advice...RegardsNishith |

| I wish I knew. With other prodjcts, I've sometimes had "pop-up" confirmation windows appear BEHIND an open window. You can wait for hours. |

| Is this a legal version of WIN XP we are talking about? Did it come preinstalled? Is a network adapter present (NIC)? Check for latest updates for XP. |

| Client tools can be installed on WinXP Pro. I've got them installed on my laptop which is running XP pro. I've also got Personal Edition installed.Tara |

| Hello,Thank u all for ur reply. Actually, I got the solution. I was trying to install SQL Client on WinXP without local admin. rights. Once I logged on with the admin. rights, I was able to do the needful.Thanks again...Nishith |
