| hi,My database server had hung up recently, and I had to restart it.After checking the sql server log I found some garbage entries in it.has anyone encountered similar situation?harshal.He is a fool for five minutes who asks , but who does not ask remains a fool for life! |

| It wouldn't be garbage. It's probably access violation information or memory dump information. It does mean something, just not to us.Tara |

So is it a usual behavior to have ascii code in the sql logs or something needs to be done ?He is a fool for five minutes who asks , but who does not ask remains a fool for life! |

| I wouldn't say normal, but as long as the system has been checked and is working fine, you should be okay. If however you keep experiencing problems, then I would worry. Do you have sp3a installed?Tara |
