I am trying to connect to a sql database using the Connection Properties in SSRS 2005. When I try to connect I get the error message "The connection cannot be tested because the specified database does not exist or is not visible to the specified user.I have check all that I know to do. Are there any other thoughts out there? |

Some more info. My server name is IBM-SDGYYZATW04\SQLEXPRESS. I am trying to attach the database in sql server 2005 management studio express and I cannot. What am I failing to do here? I have tried using the user account and just the My Documents account to try to get the database recognized. |

How did you install ssrs? Did you go through rs configuration to create dbs? |

I am running SQL Server Management Studio Express 2005 with BIDS. The computer name that appears is IBM-SDGYYZATW04\SQLEXPRESS. I am going through Microsoft Press Reporting Services Step by Step and the database is in the folder per the book.I guess what I really need to do is to copy the Adventure Works database into the SQL Server Mangement Studio Express folder so the Configure Report Server can read it. Am I correct on this? Any other toughts? |

Is it the db your connection properties point to? If yes, you have to install or attach it. |
