Suggestion for the website:If you are not logged in and you click "Active Topics", you get what appears to be the last 10 days of posts. This is a LOT of posts -- just the pure HTML of the page is over 1.4 MB! Of HTML! And the page just loads and loads and loads if you have a slow connection .... If you are using a cell phone or PDA or something like that (which I often use), forget about it -- if you can even cancel it or stop the page from slowly loading in time you are lucky, other times it will hang your device due to the massive amount of HTML....Also, the login cookie seems to be randomly reset some times, so even if you are logged in, every now and then you get the dreaded "monster active topics" page when using your bookmark to see what is happening at SQLTeam ....So, if you are not logged in, would it maybe be better to make the "Active Topics" show only the last 5 days? (or even less? Last 3?) I think this would still show lots of posts, since the forum is so active, but it would be much more manageable and obviously much quicker to load. It may also help the server out quite a bit, since who knows how often these massive "active topics" pages are requested by users who have not logged in or when the cookies get reset.Thoughts?- Jeffhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/JeffS |
