| Hi,one of our clients is running out of disk space on the SAN and I was simply wondering if it's possible to increase the disks on the fly without any major problems...? Should we take any special precausions? It's a clustered Win2k3 64-bit server with SQL Server 2005 Ent Edition...--Lumbago |

| It depends on how it is setup. It needs to be setup as dynamic according to what I've heard from our SAN people. It probably also depends on your SAN vendor. We were configured for static when using the EVA, but then our SAN people got smarter and started using dynamic. | And sql server has no problems with this whatsoever, beeing able to use the new diskspace right away and everything? I'll check with the storage guys how our SAN is set up...--Lumbago |
