Friends -

I am going to install sql server 2005 clustering on windows 2003 o/s.

i am using active/passive clustering.

On node : 1 i created a shared disk, quorum, volume1, volume 2 under disk management.

my doubt is do i need to do the same thing again on node :2 like (create shared disk, quorum, volume1, volume 2 same as node:1

Please advise on this.

You are required to have external shared storage between the two servers. Shared drives, will not work.

yes it is having external storage disk. My question do we need to have a same drive architecture (Disk management)on both nodes

For eg :

Node : 1 Node : 2
******************************************************************
Drive : c 19GB Drive : c 19GB
Volume2(D:) 58GB Volume2(D:) 58GB
New Volume(E:) 100GB New Volume(E:) 100GB
Quorum(Q:) 20GB Quorum(Q:) 20GB
TransLogs(S:) 50GB TransLogs(S:) 50GB
Data(T:) 199GB Data (T:) 199GB

Is this is correct please advise me

Yes. You need to have the same drive letters mapped to the same physical devices. Otherwise, SQL Server will not be able to bring any of the databases online, since it will look for them all in the same paths they were created in.
