Hi.My company has upgraded some of the database systems to SQL 2005 while other have a fresh install. The problem we're seeing is that the view button located in the Advanced section of the steps in the Job properties windows is greyed out. The path is valid as we can copy the path and paste it at the run command and view the log.Does anyone know how this problem can be resolved? If we select to log the results to a table; we have access to the corresponding view button but not the one for the file system logging. We rely heavily on this feature since we used it often under SQL 2K. Can anyone provide any helpful details to resolve this or has anyone seen this problem before???Any helpful replies would be highly appreciated. Thanks! |

| Do you mean View job history? Didn't get what you exactly meant. |

| Thanks for replying Sodeep.Actually I meant the "view" button available in the Advanced property section for every job step.So going to the property of any job:1. Select "Steps"2. Double-click the step name or Select the step and click the "Edit" button3. Select "Advanced" in the right paneOn the right side you'll see the "Output File" section, then a text box that populates with the path to the log file that will be used to log the steps execution during run-time and finally to the right of that a "View" Button. In SQL 2000 this view button was enabled when an actual log path was present and by pressing the view button you could actually have the log opened to view any errors. In SQL 2005 this button is "greyed-out" and the only method to view the log that we have been able to utilize is to copy and paste the log path and file name from the text box into a run command.Any ideas??? |
