| Jie writes "My company just merged with another company. These two are on different domains/network with firewalls in between. As SQL Server DBA, I do not have access to the other side. My question is1. How can I manage SQL Servers on different domains using one single Management Console? I tried to register the SQL Servers in the Management Console using their IP addresses but could not get it to work.2. I heard something about having a port open on firewall to enable communication among SQL Servers. Is it the 1434 port? How could this be implemented in my case?I really appreciated your response.Thanks." |
