| Friends:we are facing this error, when i am trying to connect from sql server 2005 client.An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - No such host is known.) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 11001)Server Details :SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition SP2Active/Passive clusterCreated alias successfullytcp port : 1433add sqlservr.exe under exceptions tabsql server browser services is runningStill we are not able to connect to the server from the clientplease advise on thischeers :)satish |

| Go to surfacearea configurations and under remote connections allow to have both local and remote connections, and select the option Using both TCP/IP and named pipes. Hope this should work |
