| HI to all.I have a small doubtIn 2000 can users be able to access the database during backups.how about in 2005.But i read that in 2005 backups are online.I dont know abt 2000.Could any one tell me abt this. |

| They can access the database in both 2000 and 2005 while backup. I think you are talking about Restore. |

| sodeep is right... again if it is RESTORE.. then NO. the Database will be in restoring MODE.. and Locked.. so no access...ManinderDatabase Painter.. Leaving strokes, that amaze! and inreturn, put value to your Work. I am a Database [Architect / Administrator] |

| Thanks for the posts.What i could understand is in 2000/20005 during backups we are able to access the database.Coming to recovery in 2000 and 2005 we are not able to access the databases.Please correct me if iam wrong. |
