A bit of background before I start:

We currently have 5 or so seperate Databases, all running Progress.
These DB's are managed by a third party, and so any reports that need to be built incur a huge price. Not to mention they take quite a while to build any report...

SO, My boss has had enough and decided to ask me to implement an SQL reporting solution.

I have been sent on an SQL implementation course, which didnt touch SSIS or any other data migration methods.

What I want to do is implement a real time data integration solution which mirrors databases and transactions from Progress to SQL server.

Can anyone direct me where to start in this mammoth task??

With RS, you can build report for other data sources than sql db.
