Im running SQL 2005 sp2
I have configured Database Mail - and sent a successful test email.

I have a JOB on the server - which on completion - i would like to notify an operator.

I have setup an operator and assigned under the notifications to be alerted on success of the job.

all seems ok, however when the job succeeds - do not receive the email. Looking at the Log Files i can see 2 things;
1. A msg: Failed to notify 'My Name' via email (on the Job history log) - this is the err msg that i would like not to receive :)
2. 'The database Mail process is shutting down' - this happens when i send a test email - it starts and then shuts down when email sends.
(is this related to the problem?)

I have restarted the SQL Server Agent

Any ideas where I’m going wrong will be well received – I’m really stuck.
Thanks

sodeep

Did you choose Dbmail in SQL agent properties? Also enabled DBmail in SQL surface area config.

Brilliant!!
I had enabled DBmail in SQL surface area BUT not selected the option of DBmail in SQL agent properties.
