Setting the parameters in Enterprise Manager does not help. I have 45 servers on Windows 98 and it is a real challenge to maintain any scheduled events on these servers. I am constantly re-starting the agent manually. I know that the sqlserveragent is not a service on '98 but a program and that starting it under dos will not help as that dos window must be closed before any thing else can be done on the pc.
