Larry writes "The mssqlserveragent stops for no apparent reason. Can the agent be controlled by a program (VB, C++ any) or any means that will re-start the agent? Setting the parameters in Enterprise Manager does not help. I have 45 servers on Windows 98 and it is a real challenge to maintain any scheduled events on these servers. I am constantly re-starting the agent manually. I know that the sqlserveragent is not a service on '98 but a program and that starting it under dos will not help as that dos window must be closed before any thing else can be done on the pc. Help.
thanks
