I have downloaded microsoft visual developer for windows xp home after researching it may be my best bet to be able to build a php website and test/view it on my own computer without using a paid/remote host for the databases and what not. I cannot figure out how to use the developer in conjunction with mysql server 2005. I have experience playing with websites/phpmyadmin n'stuff but not anything dealing much more with the server if there is anyone who can help please post :)

silvermice, mysql is not the same thing as sql server. So which one are you using? I would guess mysql if you are using php.If it's SQL Server, then do you have specific questions?Tara KizerMicrosoft MVP for Windows Server System - SQL Serverhttp://weblogs.sqlteam.com/tarad/Subscribe to my blog

wow I'm clueless >.< sorry I really don't know what I need. I know what I want accomplished, which is basicly setting up what ever would be needed for a site ending in .php to run so I can load it like a webpage from my own computer and see what it will look like, as I said above something that sounded like it did this was the sql server + microsoft visual developer but I can't figure out how to view the finished product with that.I'm sorry if this is the wrong place I've never looked for anything near this before so I really don't know where to start looking, and here looked good.
