thanks for the quick answer.
My local server is 2005.
No I have checkt the server of my hosting company and it has no data type nvarchar(max).
So I think it is a 2000 or 2003 server.
What data type is bet to use on that server

for SQL Server 2000, the max for varchar is 8000 anything bigger have to go for text
