| Hello,After I installed SQL Server 2005 Standard I am not able to login to the server using SQL Server Management Studio. Once I lunch the Management Studio application I get the login prompt, but if I select Windows Authentication I am unable to login using my windows login. If I select SQL Authentication I can not login as well.I cannot remember the Authentication Mode I selected during install, but during the install I got prompted to enter username, passwod, and domain so I created an active directory account and entered the login info.Is there something I need to do such as changing authentication mode...because I am unable to do anything. | If you dont have any important databases running, I would advice you to reinstall it afresh. |

| I wouldn't reinstall. I would fix the simple access issue. What are the names of all of the services that start with SQL? | I cannot give you the list of sql server at this time since I had to go home after a long day at work...But I have admin permissions when I login to the server. The error message is "Microsoft SQLServer, Error: 18456". The SQL server 2005 standard is installed on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise x64bit if that makes any difference.maybe you can assist based on the above info or can provide the list of services that should be set to automatic start..I will to RDP to the server to get more info...and repost here.Thanks for the help in advance.J |
