We wanted to put service pack 2 for window 2000.So we stopped sql server 2000. After installing service pack we tried to run sql server but it does not start.I could get connected to sql server for an hour from my machine but we didn't see any thing on server console that shows it's running. Now it's totally stopped. What should we do.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Have you tried rebooting the server, and then manually stopping and starting SQL Server?

If you haven't re-registered the server in EM, delete the old one and create a new one. If that doesn't work, you may need to re-install the service pack.

You might be able to start EM in author mode, that might clear it up. The Help menu for EM will describe how to use it.
