| Can we detach .ldf file without detaching .mdf file from the database because the .ldf file size exceed 10 GB & it will make problem of disk space for the logical drive. |

| The transaction log's not an optional component of a database. It's essential and is used for data integrity. Delete it and you may very well get a suspect database.What recovery model is your database in? Are you taking log backups?--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |
