Sunitha writes "I am trying to register the SQL server on the NT-server(SQL SERVER-6.5) machine to my workstation which has SQL Server 2000.
I followed the following steps.

1) From "Client Utility" window, I have added an alias to the server machine with TCP/IP, giving the server name
2) From the "Enterprise Manager", I am trying to register using "New SQL server registration wizard". The server is not listed in the drop down list. I typed the name and tried to connect with the username and password (which is 100% correct).

Its giving an error saying
"SQL Server does not exist or access denied
ConnectionOpen[Connect()]"

Please help me ..."

Even if you make the connection, the SQL 2000 Enterprise Manager won't open the 6.5 server. The only EM that works with 6.5 is the 6.5 version.
