Hi All

Just started at a new job, and something that they do here strikes me as odd.

For each new database they install a new express instance, instead of using one instance with many databases. At the moment there is one server (OK it is a dev server) with 10 instances on it.

Is this the right way to do things?

Thats what databases are you. One instance, multiple databases.

Each instance requires, memory, processing power, disk space etc And express versions are limited to 4gb of memory and many other limitations.

I have never ever heard of such.
