Hi everyone!

after having installed SQL succesfully once already, I had trouble with another software & so I deleted & deinstalled SQL. Then I tried to install it again. In the installation process, you can see which parts are being installed, the first 4 worked out OK:
MSXML6 OK
SQL Setup Support Files OK
SQL Native Client OK
SQL VSS Writer OK
But then with the fifth part, I get the following Error message:
"An instance with the same name is already installed on this computer. To proceed with SQL Server Setup, provide a unique instance name. [OK][/b][/b]
And then it doesn't give me any option as to changing the instance name. As I said, I believe to have erased & deinstalled all SQL related files, & yet I get that message.
Does anyone have any idea what I should do here??
Thanks in advance!

Are you able to provide details of how you "deleted and de-installed SQL"?

Did you use the "add/remove software"? - (assuming you are using windows) or simply delete the files
