We are planning to upgrade our servers to Sql Server 2000. However I am not sure that I can do the upgrades all in the same week. Is there a way to restore a backup from SQLserver 2000 db to a SqlServer 7.0 server

Thanks for any assistance.

No,

But you can go the other way around. SQL 7.0 backups can be restored to SQL 2000.

You can have a 7.0 subscriber to a 2000 DB. Or you can use DTS to copy the data back and forth.

What are the performance implications for doing replication on a 15 gig database. We have about 120 users hitting the db for mostly retrieval operations. Were adding about 10-20 meg of data a day. But it is a 24/7 operations.
Would it be hard to manage with 2 different versions of SQL server. If I were to lose one of the databases, how would I get them back in sync.

Tanks for any help!
