Hi All,

I have a Backup Job scheduled through the maintenance plan 2000.
The Backup job is failing with no clue in the sql server logs.
under the maintenance plan in reporting tab, i have a log which display the below error:

[Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState: 42000)] Error 701: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]There is insufficient system memory to run this query

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

The Sql Agent log shows the below error:

Unable to read local eventlog (reason: Not enough storage is available to process this command)

SQLServer Error: 8198, Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user 'abc\xyz'. [SQLSTATE 42000] (ConnIsLoginSysAdmin)

i am unable to run the backup job.
i have enough space on the drive where the backup files are stored.

Any help would be really appreciated.

How many databases are involved in Maint plan? Any other jobs running at same time?

The above problem was fixed for me by restarting the sql server agent.
