I have two SQL2005 SP2 servers that are running transactional replication. There was considerable blocking from a user query that caused a query timeout in replication. Now that the blocking is gone, how do I, or can I, restart the replication process without resyncing?

You shouldn't need to restart it, unless you killed the connections. You could just try restarting the SQL Agent as that'll get the right jobs running again. You'll then need to check Replication Monitor for any sync issues.
